Supporters of nineteen associations including Youth Association Nepal, youth wing of CPN-UML, and Nepal Tarun Dal staged a picket at Babarmahal in the capital demanding resignation of the prime minister and formation of a national unity government.
KATHMANDU: Irate youth and student unions of the opposition parties on Friday have blocked entry of the vehicles used by Prime Minister, ministers and other officials into Singha Durbar for two hours as part of their demonstration to exert pressure on the prime minister to step down.
Cadres of nineteen associations including Youth Association Nepal, youth wing of CPN-UML, Nepal Tarun Dal affiliated to Nepali Congress have gheraoed Singha Durbar blocked the entry of the government vehicles into Singh Durbar.
Youth and student unions of the opposition parties have been hitting the streets, demanding resignation of the prime minister and formation of the national unity government.
The government had deployed a huge number of security personnel around the area to thwart any untoward incidents.
