While the elite runners battled out either the half or the full marathon, over 30,000 ordinary (and some not so ordinary) people chose instead to "run" the 12 kilometer course from Perth to City Beach in the 2012 Perth City to Surf event.

Over 45,000 people took part in the 2012 City to Surf in Perth, Western Australia. Of those, 30,000 chose to run/walk the 12 km route from Perth city to City Beach.
Not content with the challenge of completing the 12 km course on a warm, sunny day, many chose to add to the experience by dressing up.
