Arrest made at Republican National Convention in Tampa
A young man named Dominic del Rosa, 19, was arrested by police outside the Republican National Convention after failing to comply with an event ordinance which prohibits the wearing of masks covering the face.
The Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida doesn't officially begin until August 28th (due to tropical storm Isaac's approach), protesters gathered for the Coalition March on the Republican National Convention, which consisted of groups including Food Not Bombs, Code Pink, 99% United, and others. The march also hosted a small group of "black bloc" members, who label themselves as anarchists.
After the initial march was completed, a collective of black bloc members, along with others, retraced their steps along the march route. Protesters were routed through the streets of downtown Tampa by police who formed fences with their bicycles.
Dominic del Rosa was arrested as the group came upon Scott street, near Interstate 275.
