A huge bolder hanging precariously onto a base rock with what looks like a wedge underneath. As far as I know there are no coyotes in Gredos!.

The AV 905 road, near the small village of Navalosa, is a typical mountain road in Gredos, but on a stretch of the road there are some curious granite rock structures. The Gredos Mountains are over 300 million years old from the Palaeozoic period.

The AV 905 road, near the small village of Navalosa, is a typical mountain road in Gredos but on a stretch of the road there are some curious granite rock structures. The Gredos Mountains are +300 million years old from the Palaeozoic period.

The AV 905, Ctra de la Venta del Opispo which is a side road of the N502(Talavera-Avila), joins the AV 902 and continues to the N403 the Gredos road between Avila and Toledo.

The area of Navalosa is dotted with small villages where people usually go to spend the summer months. In many of these villages one can also find accommodation for tourism.

The mountain range of Gredos, in the centre of Spain, offers all sorts of outdoor activities from hiking to mountain climbing. The roads are also generally in a good state for touring by car or motorbike, or even off road cycling.

Regarding this set of photos I was able to stop in a safe spot by the road (see Google Earth 40°23'33.77" N 4°56'35.06" W) with the idea of proving that one can take interesting photos under a scorching mid day sun. But when I started taking the photos I thought I was in a rock version of a Hollywood set!
