Indonesia hosts Green Jobs in Asia Regional Conference
Members of the Indonesian government, employers, and worker representatives from 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific region gathered in Surabaya at a conference to examine new ways of generating so-called green jobs in Asia.
Government, employer, and worker representatives from 10 countries in Asia-Pacific region (Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, China, Fiji, India, Malaysia, and Thailand) gathering in Surabaya, Indonesia (2012, August 29-31) to examine new ways of generating green employment opportunities, decent and productive employment that helps to reduce negative environmental impacts, ultimately leading to environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable enterprises and economics.
The Green Jobs in Asia Regional Conference is hosted by The Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Government of Indonesia, and convened by the International Labour Organization (ILO), has main objective to develop capacity of ILO constituent and national partners by strengthening policies and promoting opportunities for green jobs in Asia-Pacific countries.
