A 250kg aircraft bomb from World War II was found on Monday during construction work in the famous district Schwabing. On Tuesday night authorities detonated the bomb after efforts to defuse it didn't work. The explosion damaged many local shops.
The area surrounding the dud was evacuated and some 2,500 people were evacuated and various of cars were removed.
The explosion was heard and the fireball was show in many districts of the city. Bales of hay, from the bails authorities stacked around the site in an effort to reduce the explosive concussion, caught fire in the blast and drifted onto surrounding housetops. One House is burnt out complete.
Today, on Wednesday, started the cleanups. A lot of glazieries are already working in the streets because many window panes are broken from the detonation. The next neighbours of the construction area must not in their homes and they are still evacuated.
