During this visit the Elerai community of the famous Maasai tribe received a generous donation from Kenya Airways though the Satao Elerai Community and Wildlife Trust. This will go towards the education of two Maasai children from the community.

The Elerai community of the famous Maasai tribe lives South East of Amboseli National Park, in Kenya, at the foot of Africa’s largest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. They believe their god, Ngai, lives on its snowy summit.

The Maasai pictured here are beneficiaries of the Satao Elerai Community and Wildlife Trust. This trust was established by a luxury tented camp, Satao Elerai, who leases their land from the local Elerai Maasai community. Together they protect the land from poachers, charcoal burners and encroachment from agriculture and development. The community themselves are trustees of the trust and all funds benefit both the community and the wildlife they live amongst. More information can be found at www.communityandwildlife.org

During this visit to the traditional maasai village, the community leaders were presented with a donations collected at Christmas from the Kenya Airways London team. The funds will go towards ensuring the education of two children from the community.
