Inauguration of 15th edition of Cine Europa
The Charge d’Affares from the delegation of the European Union, Mr. Lubomir Frebort, inaugurated the 15th Edition of Cine Europa in the presence of European Ambassadors and members of the Shangri-La Plaza Corporation.
Manila, Philippines – Charge d’Affares a.i. of the Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Lubomir Frebort, was inaugurated the 15th Edition of Cine Europa in the presence of European Ambassadors and Shangri-La Plaza Corporation.
To mark its fifteenth year, Cine Europa hopes to get more Filipino to watch European films as the festival doubles the number of film festival locations from three to six, with its collaboration with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP). Cine Europa publicly screens in Shangri-La Plaza (6 to 16 September), Ayala Center in Cebu (21 to 24 September) Liceo de Cagayan in Cagayab De Oro (27 to 30 September) and FDCP Conemateques in Davao, Baguio and Iloilo (4 to 21st October).
To further mark the Cine Europa’s 15th year, the organizers of Cine Europa are for the first time tapping the resources of the Philippine Independent Filmmakers Cooperative (IFC) to enhance further education component o9f the festival with round table discussions to be facilitated by Bliss Cua Lim of the University of California, Irve and Shirley Lua of the De la sale University Manila which will be followed by the screening of the two Filipino films “Bakal Boys”, considered as the most awarded Filipino film in 2009, winning awards in Thessaloniki, Greece, Torino, Italy and Barcelona, spain International Film Festivals, will be featured and at 4 pm, “MNL 143”, the movie premiered in the Edinburgh film festival last July 2012 with follow.
Admission is free for all screening at all location between September 6 and October 21, 2012.
