Massive demonstration for independence of Catalonia in Barcelona
Approximately 1.5 million people, of all ages, gather in the center of Barcelona on the National Day of Catalonia demanding secession from Spain. The protest day passes without incident and in a festive and vindictive ambience.
The economic crisis plaguing Spain and the disrespect shown by the Madrid government to the requests of Catalonia has increased the sense of independence in the Catalans in the last two years, so that being a minority at first now half of the population wants independence from Spain and to decide the future of Catalonia as a new state in Europe.
In a few months the Assemblea Nacional Catalana and the Associació de Municipis per la Independència have achieved per encourage 1.5 million people to demonstrate peacefully on September 11, 2012, the National Day of Catalonia, to ask whether a new state Catalunya Europe. Over thousand buses and several trains have led to the capital tens of thousands of Catalan from other territories. Some politicians have joined manifestation in their personal, except for the right wing parties. Entire families have flocked to the event, as well as immigrants, and everything has gone without incidents and in a festive ambiance, convinced that the world was watching them.
