The M1 motorway between Lurgan and Portadown remains closed in both directions, after a prison officer was killed when a vehicle he was driving was ambushed, and hit by a number of bullets.
The man died at the scene although it is unclear whether he died as a result of a gunshot wound, or after his vehicle crashed.
The man has been described as a long-serving prison officer. His murder has been condemned by all political parties including Sinn Fein and the DUP.
It is believed that a small group of Dissident Republicans are responsible for the attack.
A burned out vehicle found in Lurgan shortly afterwards has been linked to the attack. The man is the 30th Prison Officer to be killed since the start of the troubles in 1969.
