Greenpeace Parliamentary Rooftop Protest
Greenpeace Parliamentary Rooftop Protest
50 Greenpeace activists protest on the roof of Westminster Hall in the House of Commons to protest against climate change. Westminster, London, UK. 11/10/2009
Yesterday around 50 Greenpeace activists managed to breach Parliamentary security and climb on to the roof of Westminster Hall in the House of Commons to protest against climate change. Around twenty of the protesters stayed on the roof overnight and say they plan to continue their protest throughout today.
The protest was planned to coincide with the return of MPs after the summer recess. As MPs returned for the first day of the new Parliamentary session they were greeted by the protesters who were asking them to sign up to a climate change manifesto.
