One of the villagers is named Ali, who helps with the conservation of the forest and has provided reading resources for hundreds of village children.

The village has a hill that is named Cuban Rondo, with millions of pine trees, that is increasingly threatened with extinction. Cuban Rondo has often been used for play by the local village children.
