Liu 'Xiao' Qing, a Jiujiang University student from the College of Law, choreographs and performs in the school's annual talent and dance program to welcome incoming Freshmen students. Jiujiang, Jiangxi, PR China. 16/11/2009.
(November 16, 2009. Jiujiang, Jiangxi, PR China) Liu 'Xiao' Qing, a 21 year old Law student at Jiujiang University, took on the role of choreographer in her third year at college helping to host the annual talent and dance program which welcomes incoming first year students. Already a part-time employee at a private English language center for children, Xiao Qing [as she prefers] filled her remaining few hours of private time away from class, homework, and a job with dance preparations for the Fall program.
In her two previous years at University, she participated in the program as one of the performers. This year, as is custom for third year students, she helped to design the program.
Originally slated to open November 6th, the show was pushed back to the 16th due to technical issues in the auditorium. With those extra ten days, the students were able to hone their performances into an exceptionally well organized program.
Xiao Qing performed two dance routines during the program; a cover of the Wonder girl hit "Nobody", and an ensemble piece she choreographed personally, taking inspiration from elements of other hit performances from around the street-dance world community.
This was her final year to participate in the program and in her own words '…it was the best performance [she] ever had. It was so great!'
As the opening day approached, students spent more time during their evening self-study period to rehearse. On Sunday, one day before opening night, the performers met for one final walk-through in front of the student leaders of the show to ensure everyone knew the schedule, lines, routines, and positions. Before curtain a number of the female performers had their hair and make-up done professionally outside of the campus at a nearby cosmetic shop. Other students chose to do their make-up backstage. After make-up, it was Xiao Qing's job to ensure everyone was backstage, wardrobe was set, and each person knew their role, as well as to update the performers of any last minute changes. The show opened at 7:00pm and lasted almost a full two hours in front of a packed audience.

Xiao Qing performed two dance routines during the program; a cover of the Wonder girl hit 'Nobody', and an ensemble piece she choreographed personally, taking inspiration from elements of other hit performances from around the street-dance world community.
The show opened at 7:00pm and lasted almost a full two hours in front of a packed audience.](http://www.demotix.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/large_610x456_scaled/photos/183420.jpg)

Xiao Qing performed two dance routines during the program; a cover of the Wonder girl hit 'Nobody', and an ensemble piece she choreographed personally, taking inspiration from elements of other hit performances from around the street-dance world community.
The show opened at 7:00pm and lasted almost a full two hours in front of a packed audience.](http://www.demotix.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/preview_60x60_cropped/photos/183432.jpg)

Xiao Qing performed two dance routines during the program; a cover of the Wonder girl hit 'Nobody', and an ensemble piece she choreographed personally, taking inspiration from elements of other hit performances from around the street-dance world community.
The show opened at 7:00pm and lasted almost a full two hours in front of a packed audience.](http://www.demotix.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/preview_60x60_cropped/photos/183418.jpg)
