Mon Bangkradee Community in Thailand's traditional Songkran festival. THe Songkran Festival is held annually where the Mon Bangkradee dress in breast cloth and listen to the sermons and play traditional games.

Mon Bangkradee Community is one of the Mon community in Bangkok that maintaining their own culture and language very well by transmission from ancestors to descendants in the community through the pictures we can see in the community, such as the unique houses which lined along Sanam Chai canal and built contiguously. Another important thing is Mon Community has the social structure of a kinship. Because they believed in the spirits of their ancestors faithfully (Pah – Nok in Mon language), there is the unity within community as well. It can be seen from the festival as well as the traditions of the community that are treated and inherited firmly.
One of Mon in Thailand's tradition is Songkran festival. Songkran Festival of the Mon Bangkradee is held annually on April 16th to 18th .
By the morning of the 16th, Mon Bangkradee will dress in Mon style with the breast cloth. Mon ‘s breast cloth is called Yard Ha Roem Toh by Mon Bangkradee people which is the outstanding symbol of the Mon people when they make a merit at Wat Bang Kradi, and listen to the sermons in the late morning. In the afternoon of the day, Mon Bangkradee people always take their family and children to take a bath the adults at home. After taking a bath to the adults, they will take the water dipper floating with fragrant flowers to the temple. On this day, Bang Kradee temple will hold the place for taking a bath to the monks, that is, Mon women need to take a bath to the monks along the gutter that the temple prepared, and the monks will wait for being taken a bath via the gutter inside. Moreover, Mon Bangkradee people do not always splash or play water in the temple, because they believe that human’s body is dirty, it will be the sin if the water flowing through the body down to the temple’s floor.
Saba will be played in the evening. Saba's playing of Mon Bangkradee people consists of Pitching Saba or Saba Toy (pitching the ball to the target). Playing Saba like this is to play for finding out the winner, it is one of sports that is played by Mon young men. Another kind is Saba for finding out the couple. It is like having played Saba for dating since the past time, that is, when the young men and women played Saba, it is time for them to meet and talk each other. Playing Saba for finding out the couple consists of two sides; men and women with 13 postures in playing. From this playing, men and women side, including the kinship of both sides will have chance to meet and talk for observing the manner, speaking, as well as, checking that both of men and women have complete body or not, because playing Saba in many styles can be used for testing the body’ s moving which is clearly observed if there is any problems with players’ body.
In the morning of the 17th, Mon Bangkradee people will go out from their houses since the morning normally for making a donation to the temple and listen to the sermons. In the evening of this day, there will be the communication with the spirit called the Godfather of Bangkradee which is the holy thing to Mon Bangkradee people that they all really believe and respect. Usually, the communication with the Godfather Bangkradee is held on the 18th, but this year, it is the Buddhist Sabbath on the 18th, so it is held for the communication with the Godfather of Bangkradee. It is considered that the communication with the Godfather of Bangkradee is important ritual of the community, because Mon Bangkradee people respect and believe that if all of them do the goodness, the Godfather of Bangkradee will protect all of Mon people. In each time of the Godfather came down and sat in the body of the medium, then he will make the prediction of the community during the year, including he also alerts the catastrophe that could occur in the community. In this ceremony, Mon Bangkradee people will bring the banana, liqueur, and boiled snacks attended the ceremony, after finish the ceremony, they will take them home for eating to bring good luck and prosperity to their life. In the evening, a retro dance will be held by the community, Mon people will dress with beautiful clothes in Mon style and dance together happily.
On the 18th in the morning, Mon Bangkradee people will prepare the deck and go out to do a donation to the temple early in the morning. Then in the evening, there will be Loy Chai concert. Today, Mon Bangkradee people will dress with flashy clothes to go out to do the activities together. Wearing Loy Chai cloth is wearing the cloth with tucking the rim into the waist, and letting the end of cloth flitting like wearing Sarong, so it is called Loy Chai Cloth.
