Eleven people killed in two separate Afghan bombings

Afghan authorities say two separate bomb attacks targeted two major cities killing eleven people. A Nepalese national is also reported among the deaths. Gardiz and Kabul, Afghanistan. 15/12/2009.

A massive bombing targeted a local branch of USAID in southeastern city of Gardiz early Tuesday, killing six people; a Nepalese National is also reported among the deaths, Rohullah Samon, a spokesperson for Paktia governor said.

Local Afghan authority says, the attacker actually targeted a security unit caring USAID in Paktia province.

Mr Samon says an investigation has been ordered to find out the responsible group and he blames the enemies of Afghanistan carrying such attacks.

At the meantime a suicide attack targeted the Wazir Akbar Khan green area in Kabul, killing five people and wounding 40 others, Kabul police reported the causality. Number of vehicles were broadly damaged in both the attacks.
