Around 250 protesters played a tense game of cat and mouse for two hours with police through the streets of Toronto last night. The protesters marching in honour of Harriet Nahanee and representing various social causes, primarily Native rights, chanted ‘No Olympics on stolen Native land.’ With police blocking the streets at every turn, push came to shove. The group eventually made it to Yonge St. successfully blocking the route of the Olympic torch making it’s way down to Nathan Phillips Square. Torch spectators booed the protesters loudly and showed their disapproval by flipping them the bird.
