A Sadhu Baba at Pashupatinath temple taking a deep breath to inhale the sacred "ganga" early in the morning. Only sadhus are allowed to smoke marijuana in Nepal - for all others the possession of it is illegal.
Another Baba keenly shows me his mastery over his body by demonstrating some body twisting yogic postures.
Pashupatinath temple is the oldest and most important Hindu temple in Nepal. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of the Lord of the Animals. It is said that Shiva one day grew tired of his abode on Mt. Kailash and took flight to Kathmandu Valley where he lived along the sacred Bagmati river.
Pashupatinath is the national deity of Nepal and a major pilgrimage spot. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the shrine of the temple which is a small portion of the large temple compound.
