The once bustling Detroit City is in big trouble. Today the US Automakers like GM and Chrysler have to present their restructuring plans to the Government. After getting 9.4 billion US$ bailout money, GM will likely have to borrow more funds to stay afloat and weather the current ever expanding economic crisis. The GM building in downtown Detroit is a impressive structure but it has lost most of it's luster over the last years. Some of the causes are Mismanagement, unions and economic downturn.

I really like the last photo in this set. Such a contrast. I hear that GM are planning to place more emphasis on their overseas production, particularly their South Korean unit, further compounding the problems in Detroit. Such a shame for a city with such a great history.
