In Sevastopol finished celebrating of Epiphany - the Christian holiday, which celebrated in honour of the christening of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. In Chersonesos (historical and archaeological reserve), in Vladimir's Cathedral was the Divine Liturgy, which was dedicated to this holiday. After the public liturgy, the Orthodox people went to gather holy water and bathe in sanctified the Black Sea.
That day, Orthodox celebrate Epiphany or the Feast of Theophany. This is the third festival, which completes the cycle of Christmas. The Church considers the Epiphany as a "feast of enlightenment" nations, because, according to its teachings, namely, the Epiphany of Jesus began to preach the Gospel truth. The Christian world celebrates the feast of Epiphany in January 19.
