I'm A Photographer Not A Terrorist
Mass gathering of photographers in Trafalgar Square protesting section 44 of the anti-terrorism legislation which allows stop and search of photographers, impeding their work and freedom. London, UK. 23/01/2010.
Mass gathering of the "I'm a photographer not at terrorist" campaign in Trafalgar Square in central London at 12 noon on Saturday 23rd January, 2010 to protest against anti-terror legislation which impact photographers. Section 44, or s44, is used by police to stop and search photographers, both amateur and professional. The concern is that it'll impact greatly on the visual historical record of our times. Great images Paulyman! This is something that got me so worried about moving back to the UK in 2008. Never been stopped here in 8 years, first day shooting in London and was stopped by a security goon at the Gherkin tower and told to move back 5 cms, Really it is just pointless. The fear of being stopped, carded and recorded by plod definitely inhibited my photography when i was there good to see people protesting this nonsense. Damon
A photographer's(also photo-journalists) freedom is inalienably linked with individuals democratic freedom...Paul thank you so much...we need to get united against terrorism but that should not curb out fundamental rights
no photography==no terrorism***hahahah great jock...dont give up go for it --same problem facing here
