Protests as Blair faces Chilcot Inquiry.

Protesters gathered in central London outside the QEII Convention Centre as former Britsh Prime Minister Tony Blair gave evidence to the Iraq Inquiry. London, United Kingdom, 29/01/2010.

As protesters started to arrive they were prevented from getting to close to the main entrance of the convention center by a huge number of police surrounding the building.

Tony Blair was understood to have entered the building earlier in the morning using a rear entrance avoiding the protesters and the large media pressence.

Tony Bair was expected to be at the hearing for about six hours answering questions about the British involvement in the 2003 invasion of Iraq dispite there being no UN resolution.

There were speeches by George Galaway, Brian Eno and Sam West (Pictured)

The QEII convention center sits next to the Westminster Central Hall. The Central Hall hosted the first meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in 1946.

Tony Blair was the British Prime Minister from 2 May 1997 to 27 June 2007. He now serves as the official Envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East on behalf of the United Nations, the European Union, the United States, and Russia, a post he was appointed to on the day of his resignation.
