Tokyo Day in London
Tokyo Day in London took place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre on 30th and 31st January 2010 and was organised by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Visitors had the opportunity to see a number of displays and demonstrations and could also participate in a number of activities.
Demonstrations included the traditional art of Ukiyoe wood block printing and Tokyo Yuzen hand painted silk demonstrations. There were also a number of stage performances which included a display of the traditional martial art of Kendo performed by the Hizen Kendo Club.
Visitors also had the chance to try their hand at Japanese calligraphy, origami, sushi making as well as taking part in a Taiko Drum Master competition using the Nintendo Wii.
