Local Muncheez restaurant Gilbert Bailly, Patrick Bailly, Clifford Rowzeau, and Klaus Eberweirn have been providing hot meals since the second day of the Haitian 7.0 earthquake. At least half a million people are now living outdoors in improvised camps near the Port-au-Prince capital. Petionville, Haiti. 27/01/2010.
Co-owners Gilbert Bailly (42), Patrick Bailly (50), Clifford Rowzeau (43), and Klaus Eberweirn (43) of Muncheez Restaurant have been providing hot meals since the second day after the 7.0 earthquake to anyone.
The Restaurant opened in 1997 and is a staple among the local residents. Gilbert Bailly said, "When we ran out of food, I have family in Santo Domingo, DR who have been transporting food purchased from supermarkets and transporting it by road over the border to deliver it to our restaurant."
It is unclear how many people Muncheez has fed, but Anthony Akwenyu from World Vision, Haiti delivered several hundred pounds of food from USAID. This food is given only to women, so that they may take it home with them to feed their families as well; this consists of one pound of corn flower and one pound of beans.
