A newborn giraffe was born last night in Aalborg Zoo, Denmark. It came as a surprise, since animal keepers did not know about giraffe pregnancy before last night where it was born.
Aalborg Zoo called the birth perfectly and without complications. Everything looks good, although a vet has not looked for the newborn.
It weighs about 60 kg (132 lbs) and measuring 190 cm high (6 feet 2 inches).
The species is called Rothschild, who is considered the most endangered of all species of giraffe, with about 12 left in the wild, while Aalborg Zoo has eight of its kind.
Aalborg Zoo said they had about 80 births in captivity and two more are underway. However, they do not know when they are born.
A name for the newborn has not yet been found.
