Night Night don't let the bedbugs bite

In the Central Desert town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia there is a plague, unseen in the dead of night feeding on the unsuspecting …bedbugs.
Alice Springs is a place made up of a large itinerant work population, tourism also being part of the town’s economic growth and remote indigenous population traveling from the community’s all over the territory. It is hard to find accommodation and the rent is high in comparison to the city, cost of living is also high due to transport costs there is a lot of employment due to the changing population but in most cases wages are a minimal rate. Hence motels, backpackers are also used as longer-term accommodation and private houses are used as a type of backpackers with sometimes three peoples to a room in a three-bedroom house. Thererefore living conditions that are unacceptable in the large city’s throughout the country are tolerated due to the desperation of the economic and housing needs in this desert town.
One men’s hostel has closed due to the issue of bedbugs and there are two places that are still trading as usual but are badly affected with the infestation. Recently I saw two Japanese tourists with red sores all over their arms and legs and had left the hostel. The other place is burning the walls with a blowtorch to try to kill the eggs and putting ant powder on the floor and around the edge of the bed. Ant powder is a poison; some of the effects include headache, dizziness, convulsions and paralysis. There are children and also the aged staying in this place and these are very more susceptible to being effected especially breathing or touching the dry powder. Long-term residents in this place are being bitten badly, suffering loss of sleep and being traumatized by these events every night are still paying full rent as they have nowhere else to go. the person whose body and hand from the images exhibited only stayed at this place one night and these are bites from over one week ago.
The responsibility lays directly on the individuals and company’s that own these businesses, as they are a direct cause of migration of bedbugs to other places of destination for the resident and need to be closed down and fumigated to prevent further exposure to the plague. In the end it is all about financial gain in having beds full and financial loss from having them empty.
