Israeli company, Better Place has introduced the first electric car that is deemed to be affordable and ready to be sold worldwide within the next year. Glilot, Israel. 17/2/2010.
Tal Agasi senior manager of "Better Place", an Israeli Company located just North of Tel-Aviv has explained to me today that the future is nearer than i thought.
In an old Petrolgas Silo "Better Place" has built an impressive display of how the future of world motoring may look like in the not so distant future,infact in 2011/2 these Electric Cars will be for sale and at an affordable price making our planet a greener and better place.
Electric car owners would be able to cruise at speeds they are used to today with regular fuel consuming vehicles,i have driven one today and went from 0-100 in 7 seconds, the car may drive up to 70 km before it requires charging again.
Charging spots are deployed all over Israel and Denmark and car owners will have a charging spot at their homes aswell to charge the car over night and go to work the next morning.
The car is automatic and has a keycard and is completely silent the only way that i knew it was running was that i heard the A/C fan.

Great story, they have obviously done a huge amount of work on infrastructure and design. 0 to 100 in 7 seconds is very decent performance. I hope other countries copy this example and/or buy these products!
