An elephant killed by the railway goods train hit on the unguarded elephant corridor at Deepor Beel Wildlife Sanctuary is being examined by the forest and wildlife officials on site in the outskirts of Guwahati, the capital city of Assam on Sunday morning , 28 February 2010. One matured female elephant got killed and the other pregnant one was injured and gave birth a baby elephant on his way back to Rani Reserve forest in the wee hours of Sunday. The forest guards later rescued the baby elephant from the forest and the found the mother in injured condition.
