The clay products are highly fragile and also have to compete with less-expensive ceramic and porcelain products in local markets. The master claysmiths of Shimulia produce pottery works not only for people with low- income but also for upmarket kiosks located in Dhanmondi, Banani, Baridhara, Gulshan and Uttara areas in Dhaka.
