A strong cyclone moved through the Mediterranean this week. After strong winds and snow caused problems in southern Spain, France and Italy, the cyclone hit Slovenia on March 10. It caused some of the strongest Bora wind speeds on record in the litoral regions of the country. Bora is a frequent strong gusty wind just a bit inland from the Adriatic coast, but at its strongest it blows at around 100 km/h. This time it went well over 150km/h.
