Marzio Scholten Quartet at Mexico City (EuroJazz 2010). Mexico city, Mexico. 13/03/2010.
Mexico is not a country where jazz has wide distribution. However, the Eurojazz is a festival that has brought people to this music genre. For a decade, held at the National Arts Center (CNA), this festival has bring together hundreds of people.
Perhaps the Eurojazz at Mexico City does not have great figures, but there were excellent musicians with original proposals, from countries such as France, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Italy, among others.
This time, the Jazz Festival of the European Union (Eurojazz) introduced to Marzio Scholten Quartet (Marzio Scholten, Yaniv Nachum, Stefan Lievestro and
Bob Roos) from the Netherlands. An assembly that is characterized by contemporary rhythms, syncopated improvisations and modern fusions of jazz with other styles.
