The Persian festival of charshanbe suri celebrated with bonfires and fire-jumping. Iran. 16/03/2010.
Charshanbe suri is the 'Wednesday feast'or "sour" which translates as party - a Persian festival celebrated on the last Tuesday of every year. The celebrations start in the evening with bonfires in the streets and revellers jumping over them.
The night sky is lit up with fire-works and fire-crackers as people dance around the bonfires, holding hands singing:
zardi-ye man az to, sorkhi-ye to az man
my sickly yellow paleness is yours, your fiery red color is mine.
