The 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is being held from the 18th to the 21st of March 2010. International Hot Air Balloon pilots from Japan, Switzerland, USA, Belgium, Germany, Korea, France and the Netherlands participated in the inaugural event.

The Balloon Fun Fly is where all the hot air balloons including some special shaped balloons such as the Darth Vader from Belgium and The Orange also from Belgium will take flight one by one and fill the skies of Putrajaya with magnificent colours.These hot air balloons will fly in the direction of the wind. Our Malaysian hot air balloon pilot Mohammad Sobri, will be flying his CAT balloon together with our international pilots. The public will have the opportunity to watch the inflation of the hot air balloons, which will happen twice a day at 7.30am and 5.30pm.

Photographers, professional and amateurs alike, are given the chance to get close to the hot air balloons during the inflation from 7.45am-815am and in the evening from 5.45pm-615pm. Perbadanan Putrajaya will be providing 5 hot air balloons that is stationed not far from the take off area conducting tethered rides for the public. Tethered rides are where the balloon is static and would just ascend and descend from the ground.

The highlight of the fiesta will be the enchanting Night Glow scheduled to take place on Saturday night which inlolves the hot air balloons being set up as if they are to take off and under coded instructions via radio communication, the pilots create a variety of dazzling effects from only three main commands: burn, flicker and flash. These astounding sequences are set to a special music mix. This is followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
