APBn Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Iqbal Hossain said cleaners found the gold bars in the toilet of an aircraft that landed in Dhaka on a flight from Dubai.
The airport armed police battalion recovered 280 pieces of gold bars abandoned from a Fly Dubai flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Tuesday morning.
The AAP officials, on information, recovered about 35 kilograms of gold bar, each weighing 10 tola, from the dustbin of the flight’s toilet, in a wrapped packet.
Fly Dubai flight arrived in Dhaka from Dubai at about 10:30am and law enforcers conducted the raid at about 11:00am.
AAP senior assistant superintendent of police, Ehteshamul Haque said they could not arrest any suspect.
He, however, suspected that an organised crime group in guise of passengers left the gold bars to avoid arrest.
The police are preparing to file a case in this regard.
