Condega, is a northern town in Nicaragua where a great number of tabacco plantations and cigar factories can be found. The local population is very proud of its production and tons of cigars are exported to the US and Europe.
Child labour is frequent, but most young are happy to work in the factories because it is one of the few sources of income particularly in this town.
The factory manager was proud to show that this was a good way to keep the young away from criminal activities.
