Malaysia's National Front won Hulu Selangor by-election

Malaysia's ruling National Front coalition P. Kamalanathan won Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat near Kuala Kubu in Selangor. Selangor, Malaysia. 25/04/2010

National Front's P. Kamalanathan garnered 24,997 votes with majority 1,725 votes to defeat Zaid Ibrahim from People's Justice Party of People's Alliance with 23,272 votes. The result was announced by Malaysia Election Commissioner at 9.30 pm (Malaysia time).

About 48,935 or 75.87 percents voters has cast their votes at 48 polling centers.

In the 2008 Malaysia general elections, People's Justice Party Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad defeated National Front G. Palanivel by 198 votes to win the seat. The seat fell vacant after Dr Zainal Abidin's death in March. Nomination was held on April 17.
