Face Forward: Humanity Through Art was started by Amanda Leaveck, a senior at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. The mission behind the event, which involved numerous visual and performing artists from the Twin Cities area, was to raise $11,000 to help build a school for underprivileged children in India. The show, in association with the Charitable Association for the Vulnerable Emancipation Trust (CAVE), seeks to bridge the literacy gap with the creation of the new school. Over 100 people were involved in the production of the show, which took place on April 21, 2010 at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
