Military parade at Ghazi stadium in Kabul marking the 1992 toppling of the Soviet-backed regime by the mujahedeen. Kabul, Afghanistan. 28/04/2010.
Soldiers and officials, as well as former mujahedeen leaders gathered in Kabul's stadium to mark the anniversary of the 1992 toppling of the Soviet-backed regime by the mujahedeen.
With 21-gun salutes and helicopter gunships clattering above, the first ever commomeration was even more symbolic as it was conducted above what use to be the public execution ground during the Taliban regime (1996-2001), that had emerged from the civil war.

Great story and nice photos. Well done.
By the way, is that a photo of Hamid Karzai winking (behind the soldiers on the right)? Hehe.
