The frontrunner in Colombia's upcoming presidential election is Green Party upstart candidate Antanas Mockus. Mockus has become a huge phenomenon among the youth of Colombia. On May 16, 2010, his campaign held a youth rally in Plaza Lourdes, Bogota.
Formerly mayor of Bogota, Mockus is known for his quirky antics that get results -- like donning a spandex suit to become "Supercitizen," getting residents to be more courteous on the roads and use less water in their homes.
His campaign has such momentum that the previous shoo-in, Juan Manuel Santos, seems to be emulating some of Mockus' techniques, like using Twitter and Facebook.
Mockus now has more "fans" on Facebook than John McCain, making him the eighth most popular politician on the social-networking site.
