Two ships depart from Piraeus to break the Gaza blockade

Two ships departed from Piraeus today to join the "Freedom Flotilla" in an attempt to break the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. Piraeus, Greece. 25/05/2010

The Free Gaza Movement’s "Freedom Flotilla" consists of nine vessels carrying over 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid for Gaza residents.

The cargo ship Eleftheri Mesogeios (Free Mediterranean) left the port of Piraeus in the morning. All night long port workers and volunteers were loading the cargo. The cargo among others included building materials and 500 electric wheelchairs.

The European passenger boat Sfendoni have left the port in the afternoon.
