The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is one of largest global ICT forums. Hosted this time in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, it brought together over 2,000 leaders of industry, government officials, academics and practitioners from more than 80 countries. The topic of this year is Challenges of Change, with a strong focus on coping with the current economic crisis and supporting innovation in energy, health, education and urban development. Special tracks are dedicated to the eGovernment and eInclusion practices, to bring the benefits of information technology to all segments of society. While having global agenda, the congress was also specifically focussed on the European Digital Agenda and i2010 Program.
