Two communities in West Belfast are getting into the spirit of the FIFA 2010 South African World Cup by hoisting the 32 competing nations flags on the streets. Belfast, Ireland 12/06/2010
In celebration of the 2010 World cup, local communities in West Belfast have got into the spirit of things by displaying a flag from one of the 32 competing nations flags on their houses.
Off the Springfield road is Iris Mews which was first to come to the media's attention.
However, another community in the St James road area of West Belfast has been planning the celebrations over the last 8 weeks. Besides donning each of the houses with the national flags of the competing nations, each resident had to where their national dress of the country selected. They then hired an open-top-bus and drove around West Belfast. I even heard that some residents were wearing “national dresses!"
