Brighton Naked Bike Ride 2010
Brighton's 5th Naked Bike Ride, Brighton, United Kingdom. 13/06/2010.
World Naked Bike Ride returned to Brighton on the 13th July 2010.
The 5th annual event attracted around a 1000 'as bare as you dare' participants and a mainly enthusiastic response from the spectators and passers-by on route of the 2 hour/8 mile bicycle ride.
The colourful, creatively expressive and fun protest started with body painting, bike decorating, music and unicycle strip-tease, before the ride along the seafront, taking in the city centre and finishing with a skinny dip in the sea and a live music beach party.
First held in 2001, the WNBR event now takes place in some 25 countries and 70 cities. It aims to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists and dependence on oil culture, by celebrating cycling, positive body values and self-empowerment.
