The City of Space, a unique theme park has created yet another scenario for its visitors.
On March 31st 2010.. A Flying Saucer crashed on its grounds! Ever since it is guarded and awaiting a performant team to analyse the saucer and prepare for the large-scale encounter.
Some special organisation, The Arc is therefore recruiting (us) to go through a series of activities with the aim of being ready for the final meeting!
Being a bit sceptical at first on what was to be found during my visit at the City of Space I ended up enjoying myself quite a lot.
You must get there in the morning as the amount of things to do is large! From regular space information and the exhibition of Mir space station and Ariane 5, to the participation at the Extraterrestials' activities, there is no time to loose with lazyness! The activities/games consists on deciphering codes, finding water on planets, looking through new stars... Some other activities in no link with the Extraterrestial's scenario include the gyro-extreme and the moon runner in which we experience the Moon's lesser gravity. Running becomes a technique!
The theme park is very complete on its space aproach. Indeed, communication systems, rockets, russian space shuttles, weather technical tools, (most of space themes) are covered. And if you want to know more about stars and planets, the Planetarium offers an interesting video and description of the sky. The IMAX movie, Hubble 3D is impressive and of very good quality. However the English audioguides, unfortunately get a bit covered by the overly loud speech in French. But maybe we were just unlucky with our set. Hubble story is captivating and we are shown and told about the numerous advances achived thanks to this enormous telescope.
In few words, Time is running! Do not miss one of Toulouse's main attraction along with Airbus.
