Spain beats Chile 2-1 to qualify top of Group H and arrange a randevouz with Portugal in a Round of 16. David Villa and Andres Iniesta, coupled with Marco Estrada's dismissal, gave the European champions an impregnable lead at the break, but Rodrigo Millar's strike got the South Americans back into play as they were desperate to win the right to go through the next phase. The match held at Loftus Versfeld Stadium of Pretoria finished with the happy looks of relief and delight from the Spaniards.

Despite the rain, during the whole match thousands of Spanish supporters were following closely the game in the open air, right in front of Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Not only they celebrated each goal while in the fan zone but also in public transport.
