From the Classrooms to the Streets: Keep Education Public

Students, workers, faculty and community members from Ontario and neighbours gathered by the South-East corner of Bloor/Spadina at 12pm, then proceeded to march to Queen's Park for a "People First" rally at 1pm to speak against G8/20.

Notable speakers recognized by the audience include Sid Ryan, president of the Ontario Federation of Labour and a longtime Canadian labour union leader and politician, and Liana Salvador, Vice-President Education at Ryerson University. Notable organizations that attended the rally include the United Steel Workers, Greenpeace, the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
