The most famous of all of the Royal Air Force WWII fighter stations, RAF Biggin Hill, commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Several Spitfires and Hurricanes staged a mock dog fight with a German Messerschmidt 109 and 108. Biggin Hill was one of the most heavily bombed places in England during the Battle of Britain.
