The Mufti of the El Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox church in Israel/Palestine met in Jaffa at the "Al Rabita" (the association of the Arabs of Jaffa) house to discuss Jerusalem as the cultural centre of Palestine from a religious, a political and a social perspective. Muslim and Christian Palestinians ("Israeli Arabs") met in Jaffa to listen to religious leaders who do not even sit together and even less to discuss a subject which has been officially banned from public discourse in Jerusalem in specific and Israel in more general terms by the Israeli authorities.
