Londoners of all ages and backgrounds joined in a giant drum circle at the SCOOP to celebrate World Fair Trade Day 2009. Drums and instruments were provided to all who came to the venue next to London's City Hall, many of whom complete beginners, to drum alongside London's most experienced percussionists and drum circle leaders.

Promoted with the slogan BEAT POVERTY!! BEAT CLIMATE CHANGE!! BEAT FINANCIAL CRISIS!! BEAT A DRUM!!, London's BIG BANG!! was part of A Global Day of Drumming awareness raising events, organised by the World Fair Trade Organization to circle the Earth with drumming.
