Medical helicopter crash kills 3 in Tucson

Investigators look over the charred wreckage of a downed helicopter Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2010 in Tucson, Ariz. The medical helicopter killed all three crew members on-board. One of the crew members died on impact and the other two were transported to a local hospital and later died. There were no patients in the helicopter. The Eurocopter AS350 was operated by Air Methods Corp., for LifeNet Arizona. The helicopter was traveling from Marana, Ariz. to Douglas, Ariz. and was based in Douglas at the Southeast Arizona Medical Center. The helicopter struck a patio wall to a residence in midtown Tucson, a quarter mile west of Salpointe Catholic High School. There were no other injuries on the ground. The crash happened on North Park Avenue, just south of East Glenn St.
