Last week, thousands of South African public workers went on strike in demand of higher wages. Today various cities across the country saw mass protests. This morning hundreds of public workers marched to parliament in Cape Town to demand more pay.
Thus far the offer of government for a pay increase of 7% has been rejected by the unions, who demand 8,6%.
